Understanding PAM?

Pulmonary Alveolar Microlithiasis (PAM) is a rare, inherited disorder characterized by the formation of small, stone-like deposits within the alveoli of the lungs. These deposits, known as microliths, obstruct the airways and impair the lungs' ability to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. This leads to progressive respiratory symptoms, including shortness of breath and chronic cough, which can significantly impact quality of life. We are dedicated to providing the medical community and patients with the resources needed to navigate this complex condition and advocate for better care worldwide.
